Tips For A Fast Start

Welcome new members. Welcome! You are a new member in CAREINGTON's best dental plan ("500 Series").
You will receive your new Membership packet and ID card in about 10 days.

You do not need to wait for your ID Card to start using your dental plan immediately. (See below for how to have your membership verified by the dental office ASAP.)

Fast Start Tip: When making your first appointment, tell the dental office that you are a new CAREINGTON Dental Plan member and verify that the dental office is a current CAREINGTON Dental Plan provider.

Fast Start Tip: Let the dental office know that you have just joined the CAREINGTON Plan "500 Series."  This information will be on your Member ID card, but if you see a dentist prior to receiving your card, be sure the dental office knows, because this is CAREINGTON's best dental plan for your state.

Suggestion: Print the Schedule of Discounts for your state (see Step 2 above). Take it with you on your first dental appointment to be sure your charges are correct. (Remember, this is CAREINGTON's best plan.)

To Verify Your Plan Membership ASAP

After joining the dental plan, your new member information may take a few days to appear in the CAREINGTON Member Services computer system. (Your new member packet is mailed a few days later.)  If you wish to see a dentist ASAP, here is how the dental office is able to immediately verify your new membership.

If You Joined Securely Online: After completing your online application, you will see a confirmation page. You will also be sent a confirmation e-mail. (Print one or both for your records.)

On both confirmations, you will see a temporary verification telephone number (1-800-372-7615). If you make an appointment with a participating dentist within the first few days of your membership, ask the dental office to call this number to verify your new membership.

If You Joined by Telephone, Fax or Mail: Once your application and payment are received by us, your dental office may call the same temporary verification telephone number (1-800-372-7615).

For the Vision and Prescription Plans: You may begin using these benefits once you receive your ID Cards by mail. Remember, you do not need to wait for your ID card to use your dental plan immediately.
